Changelog

In this version of the app, we optimized the Ski tab UI and the Audio Modes to make the experience of improving a skill throughout the day more engaging and easy to follow.

  • The selection of the Audio Mode at the top of the Ski tab has been updated.

    • A “No Audio” mode has been added along with Track, Learn, and Train modes instead of having a Mute button.

    • The icons and descriptions for each of the Audio Modes have been updated to improve clarity.

    • The selection of the voice for the audio has been moved to sit beside the Audio Mode selector.

  • There is now a single Focus skill in the Coaching drawer, no matter which Audio Mode is selected.

    • This allows for consistency in the coaching, no matter what level of audio feedback is desired throughout the day.

    • The experience aims to help you improve on your Focus skill throughout each day.

Changelog

This release includes Strava integration and various bug fixes.

  • Strava Integration

    • Visit the More tab and tap “Connect to Strava” to connect your account.

    • Make sure that “Automatically post to Strava” is turned on, and each of your subsequent sessions will automatically be posted to your Strava activities.

  • Bug fixes

    • Rare ski session bug - A bug has been fixed where sensors were sometimes not properly registered with a ski session, leading to the session disappearing after upload or having “8 turns required for Ski:IQ” on every segment. The good news is that, not only is the issue fixed going forward, but there was no data loss associated with the bug. So, if it impacted one of your past sessions, it will be repaired.

    • (iOS) Ski/boot bug - A bug was fixed on iOS where some ski/boot changes were duplicated in the day timeline.

Changelog

This release includes more powerful progress charts, leaderboard performance optimizations, improvements in the accuracy and presentation of stats (time, turns, vert, distance) across the app, ability to edit notes/skis/boots, a new voice on iOS, and various bug fixes.

  • Progress chart enhancements

    • You can now select the desired technique and desired metric in the progress charts.

    • Note that snow surface and pitch are not included in these progress charts, as they are not performance metrics. We may add progress charts for stats (e.g. days, turns, vert, distance) and terrain (e.g. pitch) in a future phase.

  • Leaderboard loading optimizations

    • Global and resort leaderboards now load faster due to a number of performance optimizations.

    • Please notes that we are still working on optimizing the Friends Leaderboard and on fixing delayed leaderboard updates.

  • Improvements in stats (time, turns, vert, distance) throughout the app

    • Please note that your total number of turns, vert, and distance will likely increase at the day, season, and lifetime levels.

    • An issue was fixed where the day, season, and lifetime stats did not include all turns, vert, and distance from every run but were limited to those from presented segments with at least 6 turns or a minimum distance. This means that shorter segments that aren’t presented in the app were not being included in the totals.

    • Fixing this issue also fixed inconsistency between the live stats in the Ski tab and the stats in the day view after saving the session.

    • Wherever you see metrics in the app, you can now click on them to see more detail and more second level metrics.

    • We made distance a top level metric throughout the app and moved top speed down a level.

    • Times reported throughout the app only reflected downhill skiing time in prior versions. They have been updated to reflect total recording time (minus any accidental recording time after your last skiing segment, such as driving home).

  • Editing notes/skis/boots

    • Any notes or edits that you make to skis and boots in the end of session view can now be edited in the day summary after the fact.

    • You can also retrospectively add notes or change skis/boots for the day, even if you didn’t make any edits in the end of session view.

  • New iOS voice

    • There is a new voice available on iOS called “Winter”, and there is a new voice selection menu on iOS as well.

Changelog

This version includes a number of bug fixes and UX improvements:

  • iOS - Issue resulting in crashes/freezes on pressing the pause button or save button after a ski session has been mitigated. We continue to work to eliminate this issue completely.

  • iOS - Segment view now consistently shows the map at the top.

  • iOS - MOST RECENT and DAY BEST in the Activity drawer on the Ski tab now navigates to those segments on click.

  • Android - The season best Ski:IQ for a particular resort in the resort detail view is now labeled “SEASON BEST” rather than the erroneous “DAY BEST”.

  • Resorts details previously showed how many “runs” were completed for each named run, but it was really showing the number of “segments”. This label has been fixed.

  • We are working on the ability to select technique (e.g. carving, short turns) and metric (e.g. Ski:IQ, Parallel Skis, Turn Shape).

Notes and Skis / Boots

  • The end of session view now allows you to enter notes and to select the skis / boots that you used in the session.

  • The notes and skis / boots appear in the day summary. Notes also appear with the corresponding ski day on the Home tab.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Please go to More → My Info → Skis and More → My Info → Boots to make sure that your skis and boots are properly set up.

  • We are also working on the ability to edit notes and skis / boots after the fact in the day summary.

    • Visual summary of your season best Ski:IQ scores by technique

    • List of possible Ski:IQ badges

    • Table of your season best Ski:IQ scores by run type

    • Additional season stats

Resort Detail views

  • Resort View - Shows your season best Ski:IQ at the resort, a resort leaderboard, a recommended run for achieving a top Ski:IQ, and the number of runs you have completed.

  • Resort Run Completion View - Shows more details about the runs that you have completed at the resort (all-time), including the number of times that you have skied each run.

  • Run View - Shows your season best Ski:IQ for a specific run at the resort, a run leaderboard, and all of your segments on that run from this season.

  • Upon clicking on the pause button in the Ski tab, this view shows your summary stats (time, turns, vert, top speed) for the session along with your best Ski:IQ.

  • You can then resume or save your session.

  • Upon saving the session, the full timeline of your ski day appears.

Instructor Skill Introductions in Train Mode

  • When you select a skill in Train Mode, you will hear and introduction to the skill by the pro/instructor for that skill.

  • The skills in skill coaching were all developed with top-notch pros and instructors from around the world.

Mode Selection Enhancements

  • The Select Mode view is now organized on iOS in the same manner as Android.

Changelog

This version adds metric performance zones, improves navigation to metrics and to turn-by-turn charts for Ski:IQ, and provides a link for buddy passes in the More tab. It also includes key bug fixes.

Performance Zones

  • Each Ski:IQ metric now shows a performance zone.

  • Performance zones show you how well you performed for each metric against one Ski:IQ™ badge above you. They are specific to each technique (e.g. carving).

  • Click on the info icon in the app to learn more details about performance zones.

  • Performance zones are not shown for pitch and snow surface because they are characteristics of the terrain rather than your performance.

Ski:IQ Navigation

  • Click on the Ski:IQ for a given segment to navigate directly to the metrics that power it. (This replaces the “All metrics” link in Skill Highlights).

  • Click on the Ski:IQ in the Metrics Detail view to navigate directly to the turn-by-turn Ski:IQ chart in the same way that you click on a specific metric to navigate directly to the turn-by-turn chart for a specific metric.

Buddy Pass link in More tab

  • Just go to the more tab and click on “Give a Buddy Pass” in the “SHARE” section.

Key bug fixes

  • Train mode now remembers progress that you have made in a skill on a given day so that you can resume where you left off rather than recalibrating to the conditions.

  • Fixes an issue where the Season Best Parallel Ski:IQ in the Coaching tab was sometimes wrong or sometimes changed between two different values on each visit.

  • (Android) Fixes issue with the Ski tab pause button occasionally malfunctioning.

  • (Android) The list of possible Ski:IQ badges to earn now appears in the user profile.
