Better privacy on leaderboard

I am a big fan of the Ski:IQ competitive element, but I believe the current leaderboard structure presents a barrier for privacy-conscious users. Currently, to participate in the community rankings, users must expose sensitive data, including precise GPS locations, timestamps, and specific run segments.

To improve the user experience and align with modern data privacy standards, I propose implementing Granular Privacy Tiers:

β€’ Public/Leaderboard View: Allow users to opt into a "Minimalist Profile" that displays only their Name and Ski:IQ. This allows for healthy competition without broadcasting a user's exact physical patterns to the public.

β€’ "Friends Only" Visibility: Enable a middle ground where detailed metrics (timings, segments, and heatmaps) are visible only to approved followers/friends.

β€’ Full User Sovereignty: Similar to the privacy architectures seen in Meta or Strava, users should have total control over which data points enter the public domain.

Why this matters for CARV:

1. Safety & Security: Many skiers are hesitant to share their real-time location or predictable patterns with strangers.

2. Market Expansion: Adopting a "Privacy by Design" approach makes the app more attractive to high-profile users and those in regions with strict data regulations.

3. Community Growth: Users who currently stay "Private" (and thus off the leaderboard) would finally be able to engage with the CARV community, increasing overall app engagement.

Thank you for your commitment to building the best digital ski coach on the market. I look forward to seeing how CARV continues to lead the way in both performance tech and user trust.
