Improve transparency and usability of the SKI:IQ Metrics → Skill view by:
Displaying Coaching Skill Targets (30 Levels) directly within the SKI:IQ Metrics flow.
Providing a clear UI mapping between SKI:IQ rating tiers and Coaching Skill Levels.
This would allow users to understand progress toward goals in one place and reduce confusion caused by having two parallel rating systems.
In the Metrics page for a session, users can tap “SKI:IQ Metrics” and navigate to the “Skill” page.
Conceptually, this Skill page corresponds to the same skills shown in the Coaching section.
However:
The Skill page under SKI:IQ Metrics does not display Coaching Targets (the 30-level progression shown in Coaching).
Users must switch back to the Coaching page to see:
Their target level
How far they are from the next level
CARV currently uses two parallel rating systems:
SKI:IQ score & titles (e.g., Alpine Ace at ~130, Mountain Master at ~140, etc.)
Coaching Skill Levels (30 total levels)
There is no explicit UI explanation of how these two systems relate to each other.
Display the current Coaching target level alongside each skill in the SKI:IQ Metrics → Skill page.
Optionally show:
Current level
Target level
Progress to next level (e.g., progress bar or delta)
This would allow users to:
Assess performance and goal distance without switching pages
Use Metrics as a true “single source of truth” during post-run review
Note: This appears to be a display/UI synchronization change only, as the target data already exists in Coaching.
Provide a clear UI hint explaining how the two systems map to each other. Possible approaches:
A small info tooltip near SKI:IQ rating titles
A mapping table or visual scale (e.g., “SKI:IQ 130–139 ≈ Coaching Levels X–Y”)
A short explanatory line such as:
“SKI:IQ is an aggregate performance score derived from Coaching Skill Levels.”
This would:
Reduce cognitive load for advanced users
Help users understand long-term progression across systems
Make SKI:IQ titles feel more actionable and less abstract
Advanced and data-driven users frequently move between Metrics and Coaching.
Currently, progress tracking is fragmented across pages.
Improving visibility and consistency would:
Increase user confidence in the scoring system
Improve goal-oriented training workflows
Require minimal backend work if targets are already defined
This request focuses on UI/UX clarity, not changes to scoring logic.
The proposed changes should be backward-compatible and low-risk.
