Access and analyse Carv data via a website and not just in the app

Requirement: View and interrogate Carv data outside the Androind/iOS app Must have: Login to a Carv website to view all user data in a web browser. Includes individual metrics from every segment, as well as leaderboards. Should have: Analyse data in a web browser using point and click report building tools. e.g. Plotly Could have: Analyse data in a web browser using advanced tools supporting custom report generation, script wirting and algorithm application. e.g. Jupyter notebooks

Comparing the same run

I'd like to be able to pick a piste that I lap a few times. Then have Carv tell me each time what I improved on & what was worse - within reason, only 1 or maybe 2 things and only if materially different. For example, edge angle increased by X but turn shape decreased by Y.

Average Ski IQ vs Max Ski IQ

I want to know what my AVERAGE Ski IQ is for the day, week, month, and season. This would be a better indication of whether I am improving, rather than having a single max Ski IQ score that I would only be able to surpass under ideal conditions. If possible to sort/filter AVERAGE Ski IQ based on turn type (ie pure carved vs steered short radius), terrain, and snow condition, that would make this feature even more valuable.

Detailed graph of edge angles

Provide a detailed graph of edge angles in the turn. Carv showed this in a Tom Gellie /Stomp It video and it was very useful for them. We need that too.

Relive a run

When selecting a run from the day view: Show a video of the 3d boot animation (similar to those seen in some Carv Demos), displaying the ski:Iq for each turn and the location on the ski map.

Display 3D rendering of your boots

It would be awesome to see a rendering of what your boots look like on a turn by turn basis for us visual learners. Sometimes I get lost in the data, and can’t quite correlate what I’m doing wrong unless someone points it out and shows me. Having a visual rendering of my feet position and highlighting areas of improvement (or incorrect positioning) would be super helpful to those who learn by visual example.

Daily Summaries of SkiIQ, Rotary, Edging, Balance

CARV 1 posted daily summaries of SKIIQ, Balance, Edging, Rotary and Pressure. These daily summaries were valuable in identifying areas to focus on for improvement. However, CARV 2 has eliminated these daily summaries. Instead there are summaries of SKIIQ, Rotary, Edging and Balance for each segment in each run. I made 12 runs one day that included a total of 49 segments. For each of the 49 segments i got summaries of SKIIQ, Rotary, Edging, and Balance. Too much data but no real information for improvement.

VideoCoach - allow graph with metrics other than Ski:IQ

Right now only possible metric visible in VideoCoach is Ski:IQ. We should be able to select any metric to make video more useful for… coaching :D

Garmin Connect sync

I would like to see an integration with Garmin Connect that syncs activities from Carv to Garmin Connect so I don't need to track my runs on my smartwatch.

Active ski coach: manually set lowest target

As a user I would love if I was able to decide a “lowest target” for a specific metric when using active ski coach. This would be helpful in the way that my target zone wouldn’t be affected by flat runs to and from lifts or navigating through a big crowd. Bonus point if the sound being played would change depending on how close to that target you are as well. If I am regularly hitting 50-60% there is no need for the app to lower my target to 28 just because I did some sloppy turns the last bit to the lift.

Personalized deep analysis

Have Carv look at the totality of your metric scores for a particular run, or for a day of skiing for that matter, and make personalized suggestions with insights that are deeper than simply telling you to improve one metric or another. Similar to what one user created uploading his data to ChatGPT. Carv could profile your skiing, tell you your overall strengths and weaknesses and suggest a road map to improve.

Repeat the feedback given

Sometimes the feedback given when on the lift is just ‘at the wrong time’ - when you’re having a chat, or you simply miss a point of it. Can you add a simple way to repeat the feedback please?

Teaching/buddy mode to allow others to try out Carv more easily than current buddy pass system

Have option for someone to borrow Carv to try out for a couple of runs (without having run permanently recorded as part of your own skiing). Useful if you are teaching a class and want to take turns having each student try out Carv for a run. Then have an option to email the result/metrics (just for that run) to someone along with referral link so they have option to buy their own Carv unit. I understand there is a buddy pass system already, but we can't expect students or friends who aren't all that interested in Carv to go through the trouble of setting all that up. It's got to be as easy as clipping the Carv unit to their boots to "try it out" and once they see the results and how much data it can collect, then they will be hooked.

Show which turns are carved and which are parallel on the run map and in metrics

It would be very helpful to have some sort of indication in the run map which turns were parallel and which were carving turns, not just left/right (black/blue) dots. In addition carved/parallel turns could be shown in all metrics bars simply by different bar fill patterns (carved=solid, parallel=hatched).

Left - Right turn weakness coaching analysis/help/training

Many skiers have an imbalance between the Ski-IQ of their left turn and right turn. For me my left turn feels more natural/stronger/better but my Ski-IQ of my right turn is about 5 points higher (140+ vs 135+). It would really help if Carv app could provide some more detailed analysis as to specifically why the weaker turn side is lower, make some suggestions on how to improve etc. Even better would be a specific training more that helps you improve your weaker turn side.

Incentive for a long run

An algorithm for calculating SkiIQ that rewards long ski runs without stops. It encourages skills where a skier can complete 60-80 turns at a consistent level rather than stopping every 8-10 turns to achieve a high IQ.

Heatmap of turn metrics to get more details of each turn

Current system only shows an AVERAGE of the metrics for a given run segment. Would be great if we can get a heatmap where every turn of a segment is overlayed on top of each other, with darker colors indicating the most common occurrence. For example, the turn shape curve can overlay every single turn shape of the segment. If the majority of the turns were 12m radius tight S-turns, that would have many similar lines drawn on top of each other and would be the darkest. If the first and last turns were of different shape and radius, there would be just a single line for that turn and it would be the lightest color. Similar things can be done for all the metrics. For example, I want to know what my most common edge angle was for each segment, not just my max for that run. Using a heat map to represent the data can be more valuable as now I can analyze all my turns simultaneously.
