Overall frankly, I am very disappointed in the new release. If you want the new algorithm for SKI:IQ, leave it but switch everything else back to the prior release until you are really ready to do a proper launch with the new release.

Here is my feedback

  1. Resort Specific Leaderboard not functioning

  2. Leaderboard does not do "Day" only "Season"

  3. No clear definition of Short Turns, Parallel, Powder, Moguls, Carving categories

  4. Should be able to set one Category for example: Carving. If others want all 5 categories active that is fine. Give the skier the option to set only 1 category.

  5. Did away with turn by turn SKI:IQ audio while skiing.

  6. No readout of left turn versus right turn bar chart. (Extremely disappointing

  7. Target shifts during the run. Ridiculous!!! Is the target for Parallel? Is the target for Short Turns? Is the target for Carving? Extremely confusing. (Target should be set always to reach a higher SKI:IQ from your prior PB - Personal Best) It should not be changing as you are skiing down the run!!!!!

    Here are responses I just sent to John today. Sorry for delayed response. I have been volunteering for FIS World Cup here at Copper Mountain

    John, thanks.

    1) Found the resort under the filter. That is new and different from last year.

    2) I did see the filter by day. Again different spot than last year.

    3) Laura also indicated I should go to “ski” tab to set turn type.

    4) it seems like it will detect turn type when actually skiing. Example when I stopped after a skiing segment, I received 2 scores. One for short turn type and one for parallel turn type. Made separate request for CARV to define with specificity the different turn types. Example what is differentiator for short versus carving, what is different parallel versus carving, what is different short versus parallel.

    5) ok. Let me see if I can find turn monitor.

    6) great. Or can you provide a separate analytics to see if there is a bias for each of 10 parameters of left versus right turn. For example if my right turn consistently scores lower than my left turn, then I should focus and correct my right turn so I do not have a bias.

    7) ok, I will try to locate train mode versus active coach mode.

    Thank you for the feedback, and I’m sorry that you are disappointed. I’ll cover each of your points to hopefully get some further feedback on where we can make improvements.

    1. If you go to the Community → Leaderboard and click on the filter button next to the star, you can choose to filter to a specific resort. I just tested and it appears to be functional normally on both iOS and Android. Please reply here and report a bug if it is not.

    2. If you go to the Community → Leaderboard and click on the filter button next to the star, you can choose time of “THIS SEASON”, “PAST MONTH”, “PAST WEEK”, “PAST DAY”.     3. If you use Train mode and select any of these techniques, it will provide an explanation. We will add an overview with an explanation of each in the Coaching tab.

    4. Can you please provide more clarification on this one? You want to choose a technique and have Carv score you on that technique even if you are doing a different technique? For example, you would choose “Carving”, and you would be scored as if you were carving even if you had to do some short turns in a steep section and even if you hit some moguls?

    5. This still exists with the same name as last season. Just go to “Turn Monitor” and choose “Ski:IQ”.

    6. Each turn has the label “Left Turn” or “Right Turn”. You find that is not sufficient and the color coding of the turns is sorely missed? We added new color coding of the top 8 turns vs. other turns and we found that additional color coding became quite busy. But we will take a look at what people think across the user base on this one, as we have heard a few reports on this. Thanks for sharing.

    7. Are you referring Active Coach mode? Active Coach mode has always had an adaptive target. We have not changed it from last season. The target in Active Coach is for the metric that you select and not for a particular technique. If you are looking for fixed targets for training, the new Train mode was introduced with fixed targets for a cluster of metrics relevant to the selected skill that always go up as you level up.
