Left - Right turn weakness coaching analysis/help/training

Many skiers have an imbalance between the Ski-IQ of their left turn and right turn. For me my left turn feels more natural/stronger/better but my Ski-IQ of my right turn is about 5 points higher (140+ vs 135+). It would really help if Carv app could provide some more detailed analysis as to specifically why the weaker turn side is lower, make some suggestions on how to improve etc. Even better would be a specific training more that helps you improve your weaker turn side.

Yes this would really help. Even just some spoken advice at end of a segment to say (e.g.) “your edge similarity on left turns is 10% worse than your right turns”. Probably easier said than done to get balance and frequency of comments right but worth looking at.

I see significant difference between my turns, but Carv does not pay any attention to this. No feedback, no guidance on what is different and how can I make them more equal

"Give feedback on the difference of Right and Left Turn, why is one better than the other?" (suggested by on 2025-01-29), including upvotes (1) and comments (0), was merged into this suggestion.

I suspect nearly all of us have an imbalance and it impacts our ski IQ significantly. Perhaps an Overall Ski IQ and sub IQs for left and right to help give a very quick view of how closely you kept your turns matched. This would be an easy step 1 update and then there is room for many more improvements with left right views for all the sub metrics and perhaps a real time sub coaching toggle button that allows the sub metric to be compared between each side both in monitor mode and also in summary. It's harder to compute left and right when skiing, so a simple comment every two turns saying which side was best ... then you can take that feeling onto the other side more easily.

I always felt this one is the most lacking in analysis metric of CARV! I know one of my sides is better, I now can see it in CARV! If my weak side catches with my strong my Ski:IQ will be at least +5....but how do they differ? Which metric is most lacking and I should focus on? This info should be clearly represented and monitored in CARV! @Antonio Battista - thank for this comment! I was freaking out on how on some runs my strong side was worse than my weak side!! I even thought that I might have swapped somehow the sensors :D Turs out this is common issue.

I started what became a long thread in.tge FB community on this topic. When edging are not similar, especially on LEFT vs RIGHT. and you get a low score it is not very actionable without know which of the 2 skis is causing the issue. My right turn score is far better than my left, but why is my left so much lower? And what can I do to fix it? My body feels like it is doing the exact same movement on both turn directions. Is it an issue with my new inner skill or new outer ski?

it would also help if the right and left turns were corrected recorded, in many cases they are swapped, it seems that if the sensor lose a connection for a fraction of second then all the turns are messed up and useless. This is an issue that has always been there but there are no plans to fix it..
