It is deleted in Carv 2. Early forward movement is partially a proxy of outside ski pressure, but does not represent it.

Outside ski pressure is key to safety.

    Rosie Miller It is true that in some cases the outside ski pressure score was not useful.
However, there are ways to use it in ways that make it useful. which meant it is that reliable to use at scale in real-time training. I explained how important it is in CARV training by skill tree.

From this sentence, you thought I claimed to include outside ski pressure metrics in SkiIQ. That is not truth. I claim to reopen the feature “outside ski pressure monitor mode.” That not affects other metrics.

So you now you remove “not planned” label and not prevent upvote.

    We definitely agree that outside pressure is important in skiing, however, we are always trying to balance what we can measure with sensors, the coaching we can give with that data, and the minimal form factor possible to ensure Carv isn't getting in the way. This is why we have not set up body sensors, or pole sensors, and was part of our rationale to remove pressure pads in the boot. This has enabled many many more skiers to start improving with Carv. We have no current plans to bring pressure sensors back, but we will be exploring ways to use motion data and acceleration data to create more feedback loops on pressure (via motion signals). I understand that some users will want every possible bit of data to help their skiing, but we made this decision carefully and will continue on our current path as we feel we can coach many aspects of skiing using the current form factor.

Here is some more context on the decision below: Outside Ski Pressure is an important skill in skiing, but the reality was that Carv’s outside pressure metric suffered from reliability issues in some cases. Carv measured it well for many users, but it was susceptible to boot interference for some users - which meant it wasn’t that reliable to use at scale in real-time training. We appreciate this is a sad loss for skiers working on this metric, but the concept is still something Carv will teach, as it is a common input that affects other metrics that we measure. Over time we will look for signals that we can introduce to better measure this skill.

    Bring back outside ski metrics. This is the only ski fundamental that does not have some metric. It provides feedback on one of the most common issues with intermediate and many advanced skiers.

    To Alex from Carv Pressure sensor costs a lot. So agree with your decision. untill find work around, please remain workaround like can revert app in testflight. Im not expect back pressure sensor in Carv2. I want to use the outside ski pressure sensor in carv 1.

    It may be hard for Carv, but that does not make it less important. Have you considered adding a sensor on the body/hips?
