Post-Ski “Day in Review” Audio & Progress Recap

I wanted to share a product idea that I think could meaningfully deepen engagement with CARV and extend its value beyond the time we’re actually wearing ski boots.

The concept: a post-ski “Day in Review” experience that triggers when CARV sensors are turned off and is available immediately—especially as an audio summary you can listen to on the drive home.

Think of it as a daily “Year in Review,” but scoped to a single ski day and placed in the broader context of the skier’s season.

This recap could include:

  • A quick summary of the day (runs, time on snow, conditions inferred, terrain mix)

  • Achievements or highlights (personal bests, consistency gains, technique wins)

  • 1–2 clear areas to work on next time, framed constructively

  • Season-long context: how today moved the skier forward on their broader progress arc

  • Comparative insights, where appropriate:

    • How today compares to their own recent days

    • Where they stand relative to other CARV users overall

    • Optional resort-level context (how they stack up vs. other skiers at that mountain that day)

Importantly, this would be delivered after the skiing is over, when people are reflective, tired, and receptive—not actively trying to improve technique in the moment.

These kinds of reflective summaries are incredibly popular in other digital products—Spotify’s Year in Review being a great example. What makes those experiences so sticky isn’t just the data, but the way progress and patterns are turned into a personal story people look forward to consuming and sharing. I think CARV is uniquely positioned to do this even better because the data is so meaningful and skill-based.

I think this does a few powerful things:

  • It ritualizes the end of the ski day, making CARV part of the après/drive-home habit

  • It reinforces progress and motivation without requiring more screen time on the mountain

  • It keeps CARV mentally “present” even when boots are off

  • It turns raw performance data into narrative, which is what builds loyalty and long-term use

From a user-experience standpoint, having this available as an audio playback (with a visual version available later in the app) feels especially compelling—hands-free, reflective, and personal.

As a CARV user, I’d absolutely build this into my daily skiing routine, and I think it would meaningfully differentiate CARV as not just a coaching tool, but a companion across the entire ski day.

Happy to expand on this or help think through execution if useful. Thanks for building such a thoughtful product already.

Best,
Brent Gardner
