What level of skier is Carv for?
Carv is built for skiers who want to get better - and that covers a wide range.
If you're building confidence on blues and reds, Carv gives you clear, specific things to work on rather than vague advice. If you're already a strong skier, Carv shows you the detail behind your technique and where the remaining gains are. Our community includes first-season improvers, lifelong recreational skiers, instructors and national team athletes.
Carv is best suited to skiers who can already link turns comfortably on green and easy blue terrain. Complete first-timers will get more from a lesson to begin with - then Carv from their second or third week onward.
Which version is right for me?
Choose Carv (app only) if you want to feel more confident and versatile without buying hardware. It suits skiers heading out on a trip, skiers who want to try coaching before committing, and anyone who'd rather just download and ski.
Choose Carv Pro if you're chasing depth. It suits skiers who ski often, who want to see exactly how each small change plays out turn by turn, and who want the full set of performance metrics and real-time feedback. If you're working towards a qualification or refining technique at the margins, this is the one.
You can start with Carv and upgrade to Carv Pro later - just contact support and we will help you pay the difference to upgrade!
Snowboarding
There is no version of Carv currently available for snowboarding and it is not in our immediate plans to develop something in this space - our focus is currently on building the best product we can for our skiers!
If you happen to be a skier as well, Carv can be a great tool for improving metrics such as balance and edging, which can transfer into snowboarding.
What languages is Carv available in?
The Carv app is currently available in English, with further languages in development.
